Simple Plan was back in Singapore again on Sunday for their Get Your Heart On tour!

Previously they were in town to promote their new album and to perform an acoustic gig and now they have returned for a full concert! How exciting! I have been waiting for these for ages, half a decade to be exact! They had a concert in 2005 on a Wednesday night and I was in Sec 2 and my Mum didnt allow me to attend because it was a school day! I was so upset because Pug Jelly was opening for them as well. However, I'm still glad that they're back once again and even featured songs from their previous albums - No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls, Still Not Getting Any & Simple Plan album.

Interview

The day started with Baboo and I buying all the necessary items for the interview. Instead of asking them the same old boring questions, they decided to do it with a little twist to get them more involved. Hence, we purchased afew LOCAL ITEMS:

- Bakkwa (肉干)

- Bandung

- Ba Zhang (Rice dumplings)

- Mandarin Oranges

Prepared some of the interview questions in ANGBAOS (red packets) and set off to Fort Canning Park! Redzuan will be taking videos and I'll be photographing the interview.

The interview will be held in the artiste changing room and they're gonna interview; Pierre, Jeff & David. Chuck and Sebastien will be interviewed by others as 91.3FM is the official radio station for Simple Plan hence they got 3 artistes for the interview.

And so, when we entered the room together with Adam, Redzuan & 1 lucky fan, we were so close to the band members and they are standing, walking over to us, shaking our hands saying Hi. They are not even Diva at all and are so friendly! Going right up to us to introduce themselves. And the most amazing thing is:

Jeff & Pierre remembered me OHMYGOSH!!!

Pierre pointed at me saying "I remembered you and you!" The first You was actually referring to Baboo. How sweet! It happened months ago and he probably had many fans asking for photographs in his hometown, Canada. And then when Jeff told Baboo that he interviewed him before together with me (points at me) at this coffee joint (Old Town White Coffee). This is really awesome!!!

Since Katy Perry loves Bandung, we decided to let them try it. Seems like they like it :) David drank the most! Pierre reached out to drink a second time in the middle of the interview.

Some of the questions are placed in Angbaos. Here, Adam explains the meaning of Angbaos. Besides, there are unsafe questions in some angbaos as well haha. Pierre knows how to say GONG XI FA CAI! And also, he said a CNY greeting kinda accurately :)

Jeff and Pierre started eating.. David is the only one without a rice dumpling. He quickly peeled the mandarin orange at fast speed and started eating. I've never seen caucasians peeling oranges cuz normal Sunkist oranges are very hard hence it's very hilarious to me. I secretly think that he's afraid that he'll get to eat the Ba Zhang so he quickly popped those oranges into his mouth hahaha!

Had a feast at Nandos with Baboo, Daniel, Redzuan, Chevonne, Jazelbelle & Sohyee. (These girls want their names in Large fonts hence they should be honoured lol!) Love the grilled vegetables ttm but chicken seems to be mild instead of the usual Lemon & Herb :(

Took some pictures with the girls haha! They kept laughing hysterically for long periods reminding me of my secondary school days where we just like to laugh in class over minor things and teachers will ended up being pissed haha.

Get Your HEART On 2011

Setting off to Fort Canning Park at late evening. I have no idea why the girls wanna linked arms. It's a funny experience haha!

We're still considered kinda early as the stage isn't that far from us. However, it is not held at the main stage area hence there isn't a gentle slope and we will get blocked by others. Also, it will be crazy to squeeze with others and we don't think we can last.

Some last minute stuff happened and we're able to access VIP area which is elevated! How awesome :)

We can see everything clearly other than a few disgusting inconsiderate people who blocked 2 girls who have been there early and some people who sneaked in without VIP passes.

I'm sooooo excited! Jumping and flailing like mad because it's like a dream come true.I love that they included songs from all their previous albums especially, "Perfect', "Welcome to my Life" etc. It brings back wonderful memories since I was a Simple Plan fan for like 7-8 years hence I know all of their songs. Been following them since No Pads, No Helmets.. Just balls was released. Pierre still have spiky hair back then :)

As for covers, Forget/Fuck You is extremely funny! As y'all know, the actual song is supposed to be 'Fuck You' but most countries censored it to be 'Forget You'. Hence, they purposely sang the uncensored version and I can see some people are shocked hahaha! So the crowd and Pierre were like pointing to each other for the part 'Fuck Youuu~' hahaha!

And Dynamite is the funniest! The 3 of them decided to shake their booties to the crowd according to the beat causing everyone to scream and shriek!

As for Summer Paradise, David was looking for a Singapore Girl to go to the beach with him NAKED. He even exclaimed that he's very horny and wants to have a Singapore girlfriend which got everyone in a frenzy!

Obviously he's kidding but it's so funny & Chevonne was yelling nonstop that he's so horny and Sohyee was shaking her backside to and fro telling me how hot Seb is. It's so hilarious hahaha and Baboo kept laughing at Adam nonstop as well..

Simply put, they are LEGENDARY~

Before performing Astronaut, Pierre got everyone to whip out their mobile phones and wave them in the air so it will resemble stars in the night sky.

The concert was kinda long, I lost track of time and I took about less than 15 pictures of which they turned out blur because Pierre was moving and most of the time I was jumping like a mad woman until my clip almost dropped off and Jazelbelle was laughing about it. I left all the photo/video taking to Baboo because he has EXTREMELY FLAT FOOT, hence couldn't jump for too long and he's DSLR is able to take superb pictures as well. Anyway, the best thing to do at a concert is to jump and sing along right? Better to experience this Live with your own eyes, rocking out with them! I look so cui ttm and even my arms are sweaty. I was so breathless that even if I stopped jumping, I can feel my body emitting heat like as I just finished running 2.4.

Glad to see many young fans around as well. Most of the fans are around my age group in their 20s as we have all grown up with Simple Plan. Speaking of which, it's really touching and heartwarming to hear them pause in between songs (before singing), and talk about some of the Simple Plan fans, who have known some of the songs from their album "No Pads, No Helmet.. Just Balls", following them since 2002, 2003 and so on. After that, they started singing 'Welcome to my Life' and said it's dedicated for all of us.

Oh and before the concert started, we saw Venus in the night sky with the help of Sky Safari app :)

As I think to myself that night, it's been a decade and yet many of us who used to be young teenagers have grown up, but we're still young at heart, rocking out to Simple Plan at their concert, knowing all of their songs, showing great support to them.. It's sucha wonderful journey and I'm very glad that I grew up with Simple Plan. No band can ever replace them (Excluding One Direction because they are a boyband) and I still have songs from their previous albums in my iPhone, Laptop!

And Simple Plan, thanks for such an awesome start for 2012. Thanks for making my dream come true. Thanks for coming back to Singapore to perform a full length concert. I was still very young when you rocked the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2005 but you do know that I support you deep down in my heart although I can't be there. Thanks for being so warm and friendly. And lastly, thanks for this AMAZING GIFT :)

The long-awaited One Thing music video by One Direction is finally out!

Loving them before What Makes You Beautiful hit the airwaves! I remembered Baboo asking me for my opinion and I was like BOYBANDS ARE BACK!!!

During our generation, everyone went crazy over Nsync, Backstreet Boys & Westlife. And then it slowly faded out and everyone thought that boybands will never exist anymore and now they're back :) Girls love it when guys sing such songs because it's so sweet!!!

And to celebrate the release of the video, silly Baboo bought me a poster of Zayn Malik! How sweet :) It's so huge!!!

Cooking is Baboo and my favouriteeee pastime! This is the 4th time we have cooked together and he is extremely good in cooking Chinese food! He loves Chinese dinner by the way and the most amazing thing is he picked up cooking skills just by looking. As for me, I afraid of the oil splatter. Hahh just kidding but I prefer cooking western food.

It's my first attempt without any prior experience so don't judge!

We went supermarket sweep before going to Qing Pei's house and bought quite alot of stuff for just a meal. Did I mention that we look like amateurs compared to the aunties shopping for groceries? Haha they must be thinking like can these KIDS cook? Like seriously haha!

And me, who does nothing but have serious OCD problems haha. Ok no la, I chopped the veggies and handled the prawns because the 'chef' was too afraid to do so.

Baboo bought these chef hats whilst I was shopping for baking stuff at Phoon huat. They aren't cheap!!! And he made all of us wear chef hats haha!

And this funky Santa apron was bought in Australia :)

We kinda wasted alot of time camwhoring and by the time we officially started preparing/cooking, it's 7:30pm :(

Gonna be cooking Kailan with garlic and oyster sauce. Baboo is a great cook! Just that he always cook too much :(

So after handling the prawns, I passed it to Baboo for cooking. We cooked it with some pre-made pepper and salt spices and it taste great! The colours look beautiful! Those are tiger prawns picked by me and thankfully it's fresh.

The failed sunny sideup which tasted like fried egg but it still taste good. Qing Pei loves it! :)

And Qing Pei decided to help us because Baboo was extremely slow with the potatoes earlier on. She marinated the chicken :)

And this is what we had for dinner. Thank goodness the rice was a success. All of us didn't know how to cook rice and QP rang up her Mum to ask :D I only have experiences cooking rice over the fire in Girlguides

I love this soup alot! Baboo cooked it for me twice. It taste just like ABC soup :)

We actually thought of onion omelette sprinkled with spring onion but as you know, all of our families do not cook often and they are perishable, thus we did something simple instead.

We forgot to add in the onions for this dish! Urghh, was mad at ourselves. I even forgot to buy leek in the supermarket. Sigh, no last minute planning in the future. I will cook it with leek/green pepper in the future :)

I have nothing to say as this is too awesome!

This shot doesnt look that flattering but it's not burnt ok! It doesn't give off any burnt smell and not bloody at all :)

We had Strawberry beer with our dinner!

Beer is usually bitter BUT not this beer! This doesn't taste like any other beer, in fact it's quite sweet :) Great for parties, special occasions or even gifts! Moreover it's strawberry flavour hence it's PINK in colour! Imagine you're planning a romantic dinner or picnic with your loved ones and you wanna try something new because wine is too old school, then this is for you! How cute it is to have pink liquid in your wine glass!

Fast Forward: Happenings of 2011

Happy New Year PULL YOUR EAR!!! A common phrase back in secondary school days. Baboo decided to tug Russy's ears and he let out a yelp hahaha.

Cheryl Miles & Jeremy Ratnam were the hosts for the New Year's Eve Countdown Party. Baboo was doing Outdoor Broadcast counting down the HOT 100 HITS OF 2011.

It was so tiring and I have to escape elsewhere to sit down and rest as no chairs were provided.

Had Tiger Crystal as well as it's the Official drinks for the event. It's so goooooood compared to Tiger Beer. Really love it and I finished the whole bottle!

I didn't get to see any fireworks after counting down. The whole area was sheltered. Next year I'm definitely gonna stay in a hotel. Nevertheless, the pyrotechnics were beautiful :)

2011 happened in a flash, earlier in the year I was having my internship and now I've left school, entered the working world. I miss school life because sometimes I will end lessons at Mid-noon, or even better 12pm on a Friday because of IS. Now, it's a daily mundane routine where I will returned home at dusk :(

The most exciting thing that happened in 2011 is travelling to ORLANDO

It took me weeks of persuasion before my Mum gave me the green light. Terrorism, Guns, Dangerous are the words that she said excessively for that period. Furthermore I wasn't going with a tour group and it's my first time so she was extremely worried. Kudos to my Dad for putting a good word for me and giving me additional $3,500 to spend hehe :) Food is rather expensive over there because of tipping. One of my Disney breakfast even cost me a hundred!

We kinda got lost 1 night when we missed the last link bus to our hotel and we dropped off at Holiday Inn and it was freezing cold at about 10 degC and I had only a thin pc of cardigan with me. Thankfully, a car rental company situated inside the hotel gave us directions back to Downtown Disney.

And also, we kind of saw people dealing drugs in front of our eyes. It was around 11:30pm and they were fidgeting around the bushes, hiding a bag of stuff there, and this man even boarded the same bus as us. We were so terrified that we even planned to sound the bell 1 stop before our hotel to see if he will be eyeing/following us. Haha, these are just minor issues, don't get affected. Orlando is really a wonderful place and I'm visiting it again probably in 2013.

Christmas: The Most Beautiful Time of the Year

MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody! How did you guys celebrate Christmas this time round? For me it was a totally different experience, sweet and simple to be exact!

Last year I was still having my internship at Monetary Authority of Singapore. How time flies! I remembered we had turkey, pastries, ham, fruit cake and played charades.

This year, I didn't really celebrate Christmas eve. I was so exhausted from the batches of Chocolate dipped Shortbread I baked that I didn't invest much time in my fondant cookies.

Could have put in more effort but I was so sleepy that I dozed off while rolling the fondant :(

I ended up sleeping at 6am on the eve of Christmas eve. The chocolate dipping took place at around 2.30am and I regretted doing it quickly otherwise it will be covered in half perfectly. Nevertheless, it was worth it as even Russy loves my shortbread :)

According to Baboo, he started whining when they were eating. Awww~

*With huge puppy eyes* "Gimme some please, I promise I will not steal your pillow at night again"

We're mad pissed on Christmas Eve. Was expecting a nice and tasty dinner but it turned out to be extremely disgusting and we were very upset. Cost us about 90 bucks :(

I wouldn't mention what restaurant it is as the supervisor/boss welcomed us very warmly. We didn't even have to queue and were shown to our seats immediately. VIP guest discount was also given and they even gave us a new plate of drumlets very willingly and efficiently.

Complimentary bread was provided as well and boy, it's damnnnnnn good! It's neither hard not burnt. It's soft and perfect and goes very well with the butter they provided!

The drumlets look good on the outside but Baboo wasn't lucky and bit on a bloody one causing the blood vessels to burst and his mouth was like filled with blood?!

Next, I asked for my steak to be medium well, it wasn't even cooked properly as it slowly became close to medium rare and medium upon eating. It even OOZES out BLOOD when I pressed it down with my knife. Red blotches were seen on my plate. I felt like a vampire all of a sudden.

For my baked potato, sour cream was substituted with a huge amount of cheese. Not melted cheese! I'm fine with melted cheese but not any other cheese D: I've eaten many jacked potatoes in my entire life and have never eaten one with cheese.

I suddenly felt very thankful that I'm born a woman and not a man. I would have been stuck outside the house of my "Bride/Future wife" if her bridesmaids were to sabo me with different kinds of cheese including the worse cheese in history - BLUE CHEESE.

Hais, I would rather spend that amount of money at Jack's Place given the steak is of much better quality and the baked potatoes taste even better.

Christmas for us started at Church of the St.Mary of the Angels. We went for morning mass before presenting our gifts to each other :) Gave Baboo a box filled with 11 presents! It's supposed to be 12 but the cookie tin is too big hence I gave him separately.

I decorated the tin hastily on Xmas day itself! I was so swamped with the baking that I couldn't think straight. Luckily I have an old girlguides cookie tin where I kept all my ribbons in it and found 1 with the perfect length.

Now, he has to open 1 present at a time on the 12 days of Christmas starting on the 25th :)

I also received a Baby bear chocolate lollypop on that day. So cute!!! It looks as if it's playing peek-a-boo.

Went Christmas visiting at Baboo's relatives' house before heading to town. Plans to take pictures with the Christmas trees failed because there were too many people around. It was extremely crowded and not very enjoyable. We smelt various pungent stuff from armpits to body odour to cigarettes smoke and anything CHEESE (Anything that is smelly in my opinion will be substituted with cheese haha)

I'd rather plan in advance for next Christmas and have a backup plan. Baboo, would you like to accidentally bumped into Aunties' boobies again next year???

Craving for Japanese food again, we dined at Sakae sushi :)

The sashimi is the ultimate! I like to chew it slowly and feel the thick slices of fresh cold salmon in my mouth and in just a short span of time, you will finish the entire dish and find yourself craving for more! For every outlet that I visited in SG, it is always fresh and thick.

Tamago sushi seems a little watery though. Other than that, everything taste fine!

We were also back in Marche again for dessert although they have pissed us off countless times.

The crepe was a beautiful light brown this time round instead of the previous burnt look.

I always like to stop by the dessert bar in Marche. It looks so pretty with all the beautiful pastries placed neatly on the counter. For a baking enthusiast, you just wish that you'll be able to bake all these awesome goodies and picture this image in your very own kitchen :)

This year's Christmas theme must be blue. It's a Blue Christmas!

Somebody couldn't get enough of his brand new SUPRA shoes and kept insisting on a full body shot hahaha!

New Year's Eve next! I've been waiting so long to catch this movie all because of Zac Efron who will be starring in it.

He has shed that schoolboy image and looks so good and all grown up. This hairstyle looks wonderful on him as well as the minimal stubble.

Time for opening our presents! And yes, I'm holding a Santa Apron! So glad that I can wear that whenever Im cooking and baking.

This wrapper cost AUD12.00!!!! But, it's soooo pretty! :)

The contents of the Huge Disney Cracker. Apparently, it contains a board game, DIY dice, some Princess party hats and some stuff for colouring.

It's not childish okaaay! It's so beautiful :) The feeling is totally different until you've been to Disney world/land.

One thing I'm unhappy about is that Baboo disallow me to take pictures with Rapunzel because we have too many fastpass tickets for Rock n Rollercoaster & Toy Story Midway Mania and we couldn't miss the timing :(

Some other presents and cards I received from Qinying and Brenda. Feels so blessed to be so close to them even though we weren't in the same school for 4 years!

Brenda gave me the newly launched ZA Impact Lash Mascara as well as the Mascara base. Totally love the Mascara because my lashes became so thick and long with a gyaru effect.

And now for Babu's gifts... It started with a card which is really really meaningful. We have a thing for hedgehogs! Ok inside joke, but then, how common it is to find cards with hedgehogs on it!?!? Most of it are usually bears!

Colouring book with wonder markers hahaha! Cant wait to colour Ariel!

And this!!!!!!!!!! It's a Bieber board game! Apparently it can't be bought in Singapore!!! *gasps*

& a Mrs Santa Apron which is damn amusing!

It looks like this and it suddenly daunt on me that the top is supposed to be your chest area with pearl necklaces. Initially I thought it's a bib. how cute n creative! Will most probably wear this when we cook in Qingpei's house. Baboo bought a male apron for himself and chef hats!!!

Though we didn't have much plans on Christmas, I felt so blissful because we shared a kiss under the mistletoe..

Alright, I know it's not EXACTLY a mistletoe but it's a mistletoe wreath so why not? :) It's the new generation man :D

Defying Gravity

Caught Wicked the Musical last week and it's beyond awesome! It's my first time watching a Musical and it's a very wonderful experience as they are a bunch of talented performers and I am speechless after watching Defying Gravity! Lea Michele also performed a wonderful rendition of this song in Glee!

Wicked the Musical is about the story of 2 witches -

Elphaba, Wicked Witch of the West (Performed by Jemma Rix)

and Glinda, Good Witch of the North (Performed by Suzie Mathers)

Enemies initially but grew to become best friends although there were down times when they both fell for the same guy, Fiyero. This Musical happens before Dorothy came into the picture.

Elphaba was born with emerald green skin and is deeply misunderstood by others whereas Galinda (later known as Glinda), is a beautiful, ambitious blonde (and gets besotted with Fiyero instantly haha)

What's amazing is during certain parts of the musical, Dorothy is already making her way to see the Wizard of Oz as there is scene of the Yellow Brick Road but she's well hidden from the audience. We can only see Glinda giving directions and I didn't realise it until Baboo told me! No wonder I find it familiar when the shadow of a girl in 2 ponytails was seen splashing a bucket of water at Elphaba. Really good linkage between the 2 films! :)

This is the best scene before Act 1 came to an end! It's beyond description and I was totally awed! Jemma Rix is extremely good!!!

My 1st Musical experience and it's extremely fantastic. The December weekends are so fruitful and fulfilling with many events up our sleeves. We even went to Universal Studios together with Qing Pei!

The main aim is for the new Transformers attraction :)

It's so freaking awesome and everything seems so real. I like the part where we crashed into the office as well as descending to the ground floor. It's so exciting!!! Music will be played whenever Bumblebee appears. How cute! Not a fan of Transformers but I have to say it's a worthwhile experience and everyone should try it out! We only took it twice because of the long queue and we queued for 1 hour each for both occasions.

We even saw Vanness Wu!

The weird thing for this outing is that I didn't see much characters at all :/
Ok maybe a few like Betty Boop, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin and Woody the Woodpecker only!!! We were there for 7.5 hours man~ And again they disappoint me because I would love to take pictures with Puss in Boots and Madagascar characters.

We had lunch at KT's Grill again.

You'll be spoilt for choices for the wide variety of western food. Ordered quite a number of side dishes with Qing Pei.

Back to Far Far Away for the Shrek 4D attraction and we're kinda pissed about it! Our seats aren't functioning at all.

This is one of the main Christmas tree in USS. We heard announcement over late noon that 1 lucky person will get to light up this Xmas tree at night. Haha, we find it hilarious upon hearing that.

And not forgetting, the highlight of the day:

We took the Mummy ride for 5-6 times. Babu kept forcing us when we were totally NOT looking forward to that sudden acceleration and drops. I hate drops in the dark because I couldn't anticipate them and it's very scary. He was so excited during the whole ride and was laughing and giggling compared to others who were screaming. We didn't know that he'll go THAT far..

First time experiencing a lunar eclipse and it's beyond amazing! We went down to East Coast Park with binoculars and cameras and the moon was huge, round and bright! Eclipse will only start around 8pm so we went to have dinner early.

Start of the Lunar Eclipse

For a lunar eclipse, the process is much slower and you wouldn't notice a huge difference as the Moon doesn't travel to the Earth's Umbra immediately; but for a solar eclipse, it happens quickly! I hope I'll be able to witness it the next time.. if i'm still alive haha!

On a closer look, you are able to notice a slight orange tinge for the portion of the Moon which has travelled to the Earth's umbra. Thus, you are still able to see the outline of a full moon even though it's dark :)

Too bad I do not own any telescopic lens hence the pictures are not of HD quality . Wondering if I should invest in a telescope or telescopic lens as the latter is much more expensive amounting to around 2k but also, able to view as well as capture photographs!

We were there for close to 2 hours and managed to witness the whole lunar eclipse and left when it's at it's maximum at 10:31pm. Colour was too faint for our cameras :(

Jeremy also pointed out a few stars in the night sky namely Gemini & Orion as well as planet Jupiter! We were looking at this iPhone app of the position of the stars and comparing with the sky. How fun!

We went to have supper next at this place near the Cableski Park. It's not a good decision D: I regretted going there and will NEVER be there again!

So we were eating satays, drinking coconut juices and chatting among ourselves and I was using my phone. Felt something ticklish on my foot and I thought it's a centipede, or a big ant. Shook it off and was thinking to myself:

"How can there be such a GIGANTIC ant which actually tickles if they crawl?"

Looked down and guess what I saw?!?!?!

EWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! It's an ADULT COCKROACH!!!!!

I didn't scream nor jump because it's crawling 1 metre away from me already and I was feeling pretty annoyed.

But of course, the above image was taken from Google. I wouldn't even have the guts to sit still and take a proper picture. It's utterly disgusting :( I was wearing wedges and not slippers leh. Of all places must come n crawl up my wedges and onto my foot! :(

Next, we saw more cockroaches around that area. It's so dirty, there's even roaches at the walkway :(

So i went home and washed my foot more than 10 times with Lifebuoy and detergent powder. Not forgetting the sanitizers and wet tissues. Hais why so suay :( Even if you wanna win 4D or lottery the probability is close to 0 unless you are the lucky few among millions of people. This is not the only encounter with cockroaches btw.

Cockroaches crawled into my bathroom whilst bathing before. It happened THRICE!

1st Occasion

I was only in Kindergarten. About 6? Mummy was wiping my body with a wet cloth preparing me for bed and the door was half closed. A roach flew in, landed on the edge of the door and started crawling. My mum shrieked and stumbled out. I was still standing inside, clueless about what's going on, watching the cockroach crawling up and down. My Mum and Sister were yelling at me to get out and I still walked out slowly and they were laughing at me.

2nd Occasion

Rinsing my body preparing for bed as usual. I always sleep really late during holidays like 4-5 am which is a really bad idea because bugs like this will usually invade your house, besides the big brown beetle. Saw a cockroach crawling on the ceiling and ran out screaming. Mum scolded me for disturbing the neighbours but I was like WTF because it's a roach and she's caring about the neighbours instead lol.

3rd Occasion

Again, I was bathing and worse still, finished soaping my feet preparing to rinse myself. Saw a big black object on the wall and it was crawling towards my towel. Hence, how to escape with my towel?!?!? I didnt dare to spray hot water on it otherwise it'll fly towards me. Ran out without wearing anything, almost slip and fall because of the soap and the worse thing is the monthly auntie is visiting me on the 2nd day. Sigh..I was so upset with all these roaches that I tell my Mum to tape a big laundry net on thewindow.

Seriously I don't know why I keep having encounters with Roaches! 1 baby roach even crawled out from my bag of fries before :(

Enough of the disgusting details! The lunar eclipse slowly ended, revealing the moon once again :)

I came across this in my Nuffnang account and found it extremely amusing!

Well, the thing is to give him daily doses of Baboo bear hugs, indulge in Sticky Chewy Chocolate Sundae occasionally and "Behind" for him whist driving hahaha!

Ok gonna scoot off to Lot 1 to buy some necessities and stationery before going to Marina Bay Sands to catch Wicked the Musical. Gonna take a couple of videos and not bringing my DSLR because photography isn't allowed I think.

Btw I caught the full lunar eclipse last night. Too bad my camera wasn't able to capture the eclipse at the maximum. It's a beautiful reddish orange moon. Saw a couple of stars like Gemini & Orion as well as Planet Jupiter! I'm considering if i should invest in telescopic lens or a telescope. I'm really into such stuff just that it's a little pricey though :/ Also, I'm going to Bali in 2 months time and will be staying in a Villa with a breathtaking scenery. Should i buy? Jeremy says it's possible to even see the ring on Planet Saturn! How amazing :) Wanna take up Astronomy in Poly but CCA starts around 9pm hence I gave up and didn't have the opportunity to look at stars :(

So this is what I have been up to lately. I'm glad almost everything is in place and I'm starting to wrap presents and write Christmas cards for my loved ones :) I really love Christmas although my family doesn't celebrate it but there's this happy atmosphere in the air which lifts up your spirits. Moreover, with a new Christmas tree on my table top and the new Under the Mistletoe album by Justin Bieber, it's a different experience :)

And I hung up my mistletoe wreath on my door today! I didn't want to hang it outside my main door for fear that it'll get stolen and it will also be hidden and blocked by the grills.

And it's finally up :)

It's such a hassle!

Initially the tree I bought is in such a terrible 'balding' state and the leaves kept dropping. The star couldn't fit and there's a very huge scratch on 1 of my drum ornaments. Went back to claim a credit note and when I'm home, I realised the LED lights were faulty. Grrr! They were working fine when I bought them. Seriously, there's like no quality control there. Went back to Orchard again and exchanged the lights for my Mistletoe wreath and got a new star and some ornaments to offset from the credit note. Bought my new Christmas tree and lights at Tangs instead. The stuff over there are prettier and look even new. While hanging up the ornaments, this particular one with a bunch of flowers has 1 flower missing! It was bought more than 2 weeks ago and they have taken back the receipt in exchange for the credit note, thus I couldn't exchange nor get a refund. I'm not going to buy ornaments from Taka again. The salesman whom I brought lights from on the first day wasn't even serious with his job and was watching anime while serving us. Like seriously???

Whatever.. I got a better one in Tangs..

Initially i placed all my soft toys below the tree and my Mum said it may caught fire or something hence I removed it instantly and shifted them slightly away from the tree haha. Check out the picture of 'Our Lady of the Rosary' on the wall. I bought it from a church which I visited in Orlando. The religious items there are so beautiful especially the "Last Supper' framed art which I couldn't get my eyes off.

There's a lunar eclipse tomorrow and hopefully we'll be able to see it! We're gonna travel all the way to the East and also there's the Wicked Musical on Sunday :)

The year is coming to an end again and it's freaky to think of it because 1 year ago I was serving my internship in MAS and it's still so vivid in my mind. I was glad it's a very enriching and wonderful experience and I definitely enjoy my time there. The best thing was I aced my presentation even though it even gave me nightmares before the actual day as I had to present to 4 people - 2 lecturers & 2 mentors in MAS.

I will also be having a NEW URL in the new year and I don't think I will be deleting this blog afterall it's the reason why I got together with Baboo :) Baboo will be designing my blog banner/picture with his newly purchased Macbook Pro and I will definitely blog more about my life and possibly the past? Especially the Ex-es part haha! Baboo and I made a pact to write about our Ex-es in our blogs haha. We are who we are because of them and of course we emerged much more stronger and confident and nothing they did can bring us down. Such people will get their just desserts some day for all the evil things they have done. Shan't elaborate much, everything will be in detailed in the new blog :)

Oh yes, Baboo has a new blog! I smell a contest coming up :)

Instead of spending the weekend finishing my Christmas shopping, I took time off to watch the new Twilight movie: Breaking Dawn (Part 1)

I wasn't a fan of Twilight and I remembered watching both Twilight and New Moon and I didn't like it at all. Especially when whiny Bella couldn't decide between 2 guys and was behaving like a two timer. 1 minute she's head over heels with Edward Cullen, the other, flirting with Jacob Black.

Anyway, we decided to give it a go as it seems different from the previous instalments with Bella finally deciding who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. I was drawn to the movie the whole while - the beautiful wedding reception, the exotic villa and the birth scene!

The birth scene was frightening!!! Bella is so brave to endure so much pain and suffering to go through an abnormal child birth and even drinking blood for the foetus. Knowing that she may even die during the process, she doesn't even want to abort the child! Film ends with Bella opening her eyes to a new life as a vampire after attempts to revive her failed, resulting in Edward injecting the venom into her body.

I'm quite excited for Part 2!! Team Edward or Team Jacob? Though I'm not crazy over the 2 guys but I will pick Team Edward because he seems so sweet together with Bella. Jacob on the other hand seems so bad tempered and always intefere in their relationship.

And I'm finally eating sushi! It's a whole new experience because service is extremely fantastic and you wouldn't have to worry about long and wrongs orders anymore. What's even better is you can order anytime you want without waiting for anyone to serve you. Just imagine entering a restaurant during peak hours and getting the attention of waitress who simply walk past you asking you to hold on and never get back? How would you feel?

In Genki Sushi, orders are made via an iPad. No, not your OWN iPad of course but every table provides an iPad for ordering . Sounds coll and high tech isn't it? Just swipe your finger across the screen to view more available choices.

And yes it's touch screen without any peripherals attached to it. Order a maximum of 4 food items and it will be shown in the little monorail train at the bottom left corner. Just tab the button and wait for your sushi to arrive!

This is just like a train track where your sushi arrives. So cute! It has a device to ferry your sushi from the kitchen to your table

The sashimi were extremely fresh as well. It feels like heaven whenever u placed a slice in your mouth. The best way to eat sashimi is to eat it plain without any wasabi or soy sauce.

What's more, there's free flow of ice water too. Love the concept of ordering sushi via iPads and food comes relatively fast as well.

And did I mention that i bought over 5 bags of stuff in less than an hour? I have already spent $150.00 on Baboo's Christmas gifts! It's insane! I still have a couple more to go. I can't wait to see his facial expression when he unwrap all these items :) Some are really meaningful to the both of us :)

It's the end of the month again. How time flies! It's less than 30 days to Christmas and shopping is still half done! My huge surprise for Baboo is only 1/4 done and there's also mailing of Christmas cards :)

The theme of this month's MDF is:

Held at Sky Loft Bar just next to iFly Singapore. I didn't have a sarong and I could have easily substituted the long skirt I wore to Redang for it.

Isn't the scenery pretty? We're able to watch Songs of the Sea and look at fireworks. It's overlooking the sea as well.

I skipped the drinks because Whiskey is too strong! And HI CHARMAINEEEEEE! :) Haha she looks drunk over here with her flushed face. So cute! I didn't realise it until I was sorting out the pictures at home lol! We were also chatting about Bata shoes before MDF starts haha!

And I'm wearing my heartshape cosmetic contact lens! I will take a picture upclose next time.

I totally love the effect with tiny little hearts on my pupils! Too bad Honeycolor only have this model. I remembered Geo Lenses offer more than 1 design with hearts.

Dinner at Marche Vivo together with Adam and Adeline before they went off. I always love eating the pasta over there. Another favourite dish is the Seafood Paella and Crepe. The smoked salmon for the Swiss Rosti is good too!

Christmas tree outside Vivo City. So pretty! Is the theme for this year's Christmas Blue? Everywhere I go in town, I will see blue lightings and decoration. I just bought another Christmas tree and it looks fabulous! Comes with golden glittery acorns and huge red flowers :)

So the next day, we were out shopping in town and decided to have late dinner at Marche 313. It was a rather unpleasant experience and this wasn't the first time I'm experiencing bad service so it's utterly disappointing.

I got myself a small bowl of veggies, potatoes and mushroom and Baboo was queueing for crepe. If you have eaten Marche's crepe before, you know it doesn't look like this:

I have to clarify that this crepe wasn't STAINED brown by our chocolate icecream. It looks more like a burnt thosai than crepe. Even the taste was horrible and we could smell a tinge of burnt aroma. That young arrogant bitch even answered us sarcastically and sorta placed the porcelain plate down with such huge force. Geez! If you want to be in the service industry then give a smile and not a bullcrap attitude to customers. We're merely asking if it's supposed to be this colour and BOOM, she released all her anger on us.

The supervisor was nice enough to admit that the crepe was off colour and didn't charge us for anything. Someday, someone will gouge out her eyes if she continues to rock and roll her eyeballs. This isn't a concert dudette.

I didn't get to celebrate Halloween this year again because Babu was away in Australia for Reservist :( He got me a real pumpkin and we only happened to start painting it now.

Thank goodness we painted the pumpkin that weekend because it turned moudly after 3 days. There's white cotton-like mould forming at the top and within a week, it has multiplied and covered 1/4 of the pumpkin. How sad, we were actually planning to cook it. It cost $8.00 :(

I am getting lazy on weekends and there isn't time to rest. Everyday, I will be rushing to at least 3 places! - -- Sending my Coach bag for cleaning
- Dropping by a blogshop owner's house to collect my wedges
- Buying my Christmas ornaments
- Getting a new wallet because my current one spoilt
- Buying a Braun Buffel bag for my Mum and have to travel all the way to town
- Taking photos for 2 weekends

And some people have to put it in a way that I'm neglecting them.. Oh well, my conscience is clear hence I don't give a damn.

Anyway, for the previous 2 weekends, I was a photographer for Babu's hosting gig - Teens Supreme 2011 Auditions & Finals. During the entire day, we were exposed to Kpop and now, he's crazy over 'The Boys' by Girls Generation & 'Bubble Pop' by HyunA. I like Mr Simple! :) We even downloaded this Girls Generation app on our iPhones haha! The performances were really good and they are a talented bunch! I like Cheon Nam's performance!

AUDITIONS

FINALS

Not only did they sing and dance at the same time, their coordination was good and they really put in alot of effort in terms of singing and clothing. They even rapped in Korean! It was awesome! And they will be coming into 91.3FM's studio on Monday!

Another great performance was Defying Gravity by Nathania!

Defying Gravity was from Wicked, the musical and it was also sung by Lea Michele & Chris Colfer from Glee. I love Wicked and I'm bought tickets to the musical :D Tickets were pricey and we bought them at $148 each. I'm looking forward to the song 'As Long As You're Mine' as well. Baboo said that if Adam Lambert didn't join American Idol, he will be in Singapore performing in Wicked. I got so disappointed for a few seconds and realised that if Adam didn't join Idol, I wouldn't even know him. Haha silly me. I miss Adam lambert so much and hope he'll be back in Singapore soon.

The weekends are fast approaching again. I'm kinda sick of going to town again to buy my Christmas ornaments because I exchanged the slightly defected tree and a drum with a scratched rim :(
Haven't even get my cookie cutters yet and I'm wondering if i should create my own fondant. Oh, and so many presents to wrap. Meeting Qing Pei and we'll be going to Universal Studios together to take the Transformer ride. So exciting! We shall bring ponchos and take the Jurassic park ride. I wanna play with her dog too! It has a pink belly :)

Ever since I was a kid, around 13, 14?

I recently found this at home. It was a newspaper cut out and I remember pestering my parents that I wanna catch it because Pug Jelly is opening for them :( And they said NO because I was still 13 and it's a SCHOOL DAY.

And now, it's a dream come true! The Press Conference, Acoustic performance this year and now, a GET YOUR HEART ON TOUR! Tickets are selling at $99 for early birds so go get one now and we shall all rock out in the moshpit :)

Lady Tremaine

Ok, I wanna clarify that she isn't my favourite villain! How is it possible to like all these villains in Disney movies? They are vile, evil and extremely wicked. What I meant was Lady Tremaine is the most evil villain I've ever seen and I've never felt so much for a villain before!

Destroying Cinderella's hopes and dreams, abusing and treating her like a slave. And worse of all, stole the Fairy Godmother's wand in the last Cinderella movie and turn back time to prevent her from trying on the glass slipper and letting Anastasia marry the prince!

Sounds exciting? It's called Cinderella: A Twist In Time which is even better than the 1st movie.

Ok Babu's dog likes to whine.. not in an annoying but a really ADORABLE way! The other day we were playing Kinect and wasn't playing fetch or belly rubbing him and he felt sad? He came up to me, gave me puppy eyes and whined the same way as the above video. How cute! He also came up to lick me while we were playing Raving Rabbids and just nice, he was captured in the picture licking my knees haha! What a silly thing!

There's this funny game where the Rabbids will pop up from the ground and you gotta stomp on them and he just walked past the screen, unknowingly stomping on them. It's super hilarious to see the Rabbids struggling underneath his tiny paws. Look at the video and imagine it for yourself XD

I discovered a stash of balloons and pump in Babu's drawers! He said it's a surprise for 1 of my Christmas gifts. Busted! haha!

Both of us have no experiences in balloon sculpturing but still, he went ahead and pumped air into a yellow balloon and gave it to me. After fiddling with it for 10 minutes, I was about to give up. The balloon bubble kept unwinding and I have no idea what's a lock twist. And then, YouTube to the rescue :)

I was about to make a swan but accidentally twisted much smaller bubbles, hence I switched it to a dog but with much longer ears than expected haha!

What a weird animal! The legs were uneven and it doesn't look like a dog but a farm animal? Idk! Actually lock twists are easy to create. Just grab 2 bubbles and twist! They wouldn't burst unless you poke it with something sharp or you didn't leave enough space at the ends for the air. Oh well, I prefer to do face painting than balloon sculpturing :)

I am going prawning this Saturday! It's something that I always wanted to do but didn't squeeze out time for it. Needless to say, I love prawns and it's exciting to cook it from your own catch! The afternoon downpour is happening almost everyday and is ruining all my outdoor plans :(

As a result, we stayed indoors for the past few days and played this!

MONOPOLY ELECTRONIC BANKING

I love Monopoly since young and I even got bankrupt once whilst playing with my Sister and landing on Piccadilly numerous times which she bought a hotel for. We used to play it with paper money and they come in $1, $5, $10, $20 bills, etc. However, this time round is different as they provided an electronic device!

I CANT WAIT FOR FANTASY LAND TO OPEN IN ORLANDO!

Apparently, there's a new Little Mermaid ride in Anaheim, Disneyland which seems so real! However, I didn't want to fly to Orlando for the newly opened Fantasy Land and take another flight to Anaheim because it will be so tiring and thankfully, they are bringing in this ride to Walt Disney World. I remembered crying hysterically when this scene was shown. Andy didn't want to give away Woody initially afterall, it was his favourite toy! Nobody likes goodbye. Seeing him playing with his toys for one last time before handing it to its next rightful owner is so touching. What got me was the ending when Bonnie made Woody waved goodbye. It's so sad.

Happy Halloween everybody!

I didn't get to celebrate this special occasion because someone was out of the country! However, this sillything bought a pumpkin for me :)

I guess I have to paint the face rather than carve it. It's a real pumpkin btw!

I shall wait for him to be back so we can paint it together :)

Plans to dress up as Scream last year were cancelled because he was on air. 2 years ago I dressed up as a kitty cat and made my own accessories. I didn't wear a full body suit but I bought some cotton and felt to sew a tail and collar.

It'll be awesome if we can celebrate it together next year with Qingpei at Universal Studios! I didn't get to visit it today and I'd love the idea of dressing up. Probably as a Disney Princess, Genie or a ghost. I can only pull it off as Mulan but I really wanted to be a smurfette actually :(

Oh well, meanwhile we shall wait till 365 days later! Can't wait to take the Transformer ride in Universal Studios! It's similar as "The Adventures of Spiderman" which I took in Florida and it's mad awesome! Featuring a simulator ride and your vehicle is NOT stationary hence it's pretty exciting!

Talk about Retail Therapy because Babu gave me 3 lonely weekends and I have nothing to do. My girls are in Universities and we just cancelled an outing yesterday because of work commitments as well. These are my loots for the past few weeks:

This is what happens when you have a regular paycheck and when occasions like Christmas and New Years are fast approaching and you just can't wait to fully revamp your wardrobe! Not to mention that some clothes have only been worn once or twice only. This is how fickle girls can get hehe :) We are never contented!

And with the fact that Christmas is coming, i'll be busy camping in the kitchen, rolling the dough and making batches and batches of cookies. Shortbread cookies and Christmas tree fondant cookies. I hate Wilton's fondant because it smells bad and I still have like 2 boxes of it. Maybe I'll just baked the Christmas tree cookies and hang it up on the tree for decorative purposes.

I even drafted out a shopping list:

Babu has survived his outfield and told me a python was outside his tent when he's back at his bunk. How irresponsible can they get? Yea they may be just regular soldiers to you but they are other people's husbands/sons/fathers, etc. They just simply fed it with a rat which was being swallowed in a second. Thankfully he'll be back on Tues and we have planned a number of exciting stuffs which includes Prawning :)

He's afraid of touching live prawns haha! Let's see how he does it :D

I forgot to mention this. During our recent vacation to Orlando, we were trying to take a picture together in Disney's Hollywood Studios but couldn't get a perfect one. This jolly old man approached me to ask if he can help in anyway and after passing our iPhone to him, he tapped me again to ask how does the camera app functions. Next, after returning the iPhone and wishing for us to enjoy ourselves, he walked off before stopping in his tracks to pick up a broom, left balancing against the bench.

HE'S A ROADSWEEPER

His hospitality and kindness touched us deeply... The fact that he doesn't know how to use an iPhone yet agreed to help us whilst working is admirable. Moreover, the weather is scorching hot and he looks so glad helping us.

We also encountered great service in Epcot and it's from a roadside stall not a restaurant where you gotta pay tips. The staff forgot our orders for merely 2 minutes and gave us a large drink instead of a small one. We were both taken aback haha! I swear you wouldn't see such actions on the streets nowadays.

If they were to open Disneyland in Singapore, I will apply for a job over there straightaway! It's filled with joy and laughter and whoever says that Disney is childish, well suck it up because you don't have a childhood :)

I guess my answers will be pretty limited as most of the Disney movies were screened in the late 80s to early 90s and I was either not 'made/formed' or a baby! Kite Flying at Marine Barrage

Since Babu received some kites in a goodie bag from a previous event, we decided to put it into good use instead of dumping into the bin. They aren't fancy looking but it's not important as it doesn't affect how high it can fly.

Initially, we planned to fly our kite in a grassy field, somewhere in Bukit Batok. However, we switched it to Marina Barrage as the former is neglected with grass growing way past your ankles that you wouldn't even know if any snakes are lying around.

Back in Feb, we went shopping at Florida Mall and while walking back to our rented car, we almost stepped on a snake! A snake in an open parking lot! It's very scary and we could have died! And yeah, so we chose Marina Barrage although I wasn't that glad about it. It was crazy the last time I went and almost every spot was taken up and I didn't understand how they were able to fly kites without getting their strings tangled together. As for that day, it wasn't a weekend nor school holiday and it's kinda vacant!!!! :)

This place is ideal for relaxing, just check out the beautiful scenery surrounding you. It's better to drop by on weekdays if you want to avoid the crowd.

I've only flown a kite once in my entire life which was a decade ago. We made kites using tracing paper and bamboo sticks and were told to paint them with whatever we want. I painted a bird which resembles more like a cockatoo and it looks horrible because my art was just average. It kinda affected me even if I glanced at it and it sorta affect my mood since that day haha!

We started flying our kite at around 5pm which is kinda late but the weather is mad loveeee! It's breezy and moments later, our kite was up in the sky!

It came crashing down when dusk arrived. Thank goodness the sky was slightly overcast accompanied with gusty wind which enabled us to get it back up the sky within a few minutes.

It's so lovely to spend quality time doing things both of us enjoy doing. It doesn't always have to be eating at some high end restaurants or splurging on unnecessary stuff. Simple things like this are equally wonderful. Granted, the scenery was breath-taking, and there are quite a number of activities you can do there besides flying kites.

Just look at the lush greenery, it will be perfect if Russy can join us. Too bad he's old and he will get all excited and start running around despite being breathless. He'll get nervous as well if he's out since Babu said he pooped in their car when he's young :D

Last week, we bought wanton noodles for supper and went to his house to eat. I was holding onto the packet of noodles and he placed his paws on my thighs when I entered and started following me, ignoring Babu, whom he is supposed to 'greet' everyday! So cute beyond words!

We call it a day when it finally started drizzling. It was half past 7 and we were very contented as our kite was so high up, reeling it all the way to the end. We were so afraid that the tape or whatever will just give way due to the strong wind.

Though this outing was more than 3 months ago, it's still fresh in my mind as he recently did an interview and NTU's WKW School of Communications newspaper will be talking about Babu and this outing in a few weeks time. Thought I can share it here on why this is the ideal place for chilling :)

The week passed way quickly and today's the 7th day without seeing Babu! He's going for out-field soon from Monday to Thursday hence we couldn't talk on the phone. Army stinks, or what I call 'National Slavery'. This is the 5th time he's back in there in Year 2011 including all the RTs! When I start complaining he say I should be glad that he's fit! Haha what a silly billy!

Besides, this is the 2nd time we couldn't celebrate Halloween together again :(

Evil Twin in Sims Social

With Halloween around the corner, there's bound to be plentiful of spooky surprises coming your way, haunting your residence.

I can't even click on her! It just goes right through! What she's missing are devil horns and a pitchfork.

I'm kidding, obviously it's a bug. Anyway i made my Sim pee as well hahaha! It could have been better if the puddle is yellow instead of blue.

Her hygiene took a sharp dip after peeing and turned grey! It's amusing!

Babu Babu Babu, just called me from Aussie land.

He bought a card and it will automatically cut off after 20 minutes. Guess it's gonna cost a bomb by the time he returns

He said he saw kangaroos, porcupines and baby wombat. Singaporean food is what they are having there to my bewilderment. I thought they will be having pasta and potatoes daily. In fact, he's having rice, porridge, nata de coco, etc! He's gonna sleep in a huge tent with 8 other people for 2 weeks! + 6 days of dreaded outfield.

I cant imagine bathing for a day. How can they survive without bathing / washing hands / brushing of teeth for 6 days?!

Oh gosh, I remembered this dirty game which we played during Secondary 1 for Girlguides camp. They cracked eggs on our head and because the timing for the game overshot, we couldn't bathe and gotta sleep with egg white/yolk on our hair. It's utterly disgusting and by the time you woke up, they have harden onto your hair. You don't even have time to bathe in the morning because you need to fall in immediately after washing up in your casual clothing. Besides that, I'm a clean freak hence I couldn't accept it.

Today's the 1st day without seeing Baboo. We meet everyday with him coming to my office daily, having lunch with me and we'll go out on weekends and sometimes, lazed at the Ratnam's residence. He's away in Australia, Rockhampton for 2 weeks long reservist :(

I didn't go to the airport this morning to see him off because I hate saying good-byes. We whatsapp-ed and chatted until the announcement of switching off handphones was heard. Nevertheless, absence makes the heart fonder :D He will also be back on the airwaves on 5th November :)

Few weeks ago, we went to the Sky Bar at Resorts World Sentosa for September's Must Drink Friday.

Theme: White Party

This was taken outside the bar with a pool overlooking Universal Studios and the various hotels in Sentosa . Beautiful sight :)

Drink choices are limited. Vodka mixed with coke isn't a good combination! Wanted my usual vodka cranberry but it isn't available. Previous MDFs at common clubs are better with a wide array of drinks

They have this alcohol mixed with apple cider which is ohsogood!

This month's MDF is apparently the best in history as it's held in Avalon and about 1000 people will be invited. There will be a special performance put up by the jocks. It's related to LMFAO :) Too bad Baboo isn't in Singapore because I would love to see him perform!

Last week, we went for a sleepover at the Ratnams :) Love the breakfast! Baked beans, scrambled eggs, french toast, hard boiled eggs and english breakfast tea. Sucha huge spread. I love Jamie's cooking! :)

We had Kai Lan with Oyster sauce, cooked by Baboo which was simply delicious as well as takeout food - Fish soup and Chili Crab! There's Long Flat's Mocasto white wine as well! :)

We also managed to win the Mcdonalds Collectibles from the monopoly game. Miniature burgers and other food items all packed in a huge burger box. So cute!

Happy Birthday Dear Baboo

This post is long delayed! Baboo's birthday falls on the 19th of Sept :)

Cup O' Love. This is what Baboo named his cupcake. Baked this for him as a birthday surprise and after rolling out the fondant and stamping out shapes, it's 3am! And i have work the next day so you can imagine how exhausted I am

Sometimes I just feel like hiring a part time maid to wash up all my baking utensils or buy a dishwasher so I'm able to load everything inside without scrubbing the greasy mixing bowl and my mixer 0.0

Chapter 1: The way to a man's heart is through his stomach

Ok just kidding since it only applies to several men but not the whole. We decided not to dine out and whipped up a feast for the Birthday King.

We went grocery shopping in the noon. Took half day leave as I have to clear an off-in-lieu due to Presidential Elections. It's a Friday :)

Gonna make 2 things:

- Butterfly prawns with garlic butter

- Pan fried salmon with sauteed potatoes in italian herbs

Boiling the potatoes till slightly cooked before transferring to the pan to saute

Meanwhile, time to multi-task and settle the prawns first. We bought tiger prawns and just 5 of them cost more than $10.00!

Peel, wash and pat dry. Didn't de-vein the prawns as it was well hidden. Save all the trouble :)

Season with salt and pepper. See how small it is after the heads were removed!

This is what I did after I butterfly the prawns. First time cooking this dish and thankfully it's a success forcing their tail through their body.

Add in the butter and chopped garlic

Next: Salmon Fillet. Marinated with lemon juice, salt and pepper. The last 2 always come together.

Back to my potatoes! Saute it with italian herbs and some minced garlic. This goes with the salmon

Getting a nonstick pan is extremely important. Anyway, they still taste good for a 1st attempt and we omitted the veggies over here as we only need a small portion of it and veggies don't come in teeny weeny packages. Grilled vegetables is a good choice compared to boring coleslaw.

Baboo has nothing to do and has been standing there watching me preparing the prawns to cooking these 2 dishes. Hence, he decided to cook eggs :)

And that's what we had for dinner!

- Clam Chowder (Totally ruined)
- Butterfly Prawns in garlic butter

- Fried eggs

- Pan fried Salmon with sauteed potatoes in Italian herbs

- Zhixin's "Cup O' Love"

So what on earth happened to the Clam Chowder???

While pouring the contents into the pot, I realised we need milk! We didn't have any milk at home hence Baboo went to buy and we followed the instructions printed on the can to prepare it. It tasted yucky! Instead of tasting clam chowder, it tasted like milk! The combination was totally off and we poured everything away and disposed off. What a waste of food! We're more afraid of getting tummyaches.

Baboo, we should just stick to Cream of Mushroom since I've prepared that numerous times :(

Next, we prepared Konnyaku! Baboo was so excited and wanted to prepare everything by himself. I like the gigantic pineapple :)

Chapter 2: The perfect gift for Baboo

Big bears, small bears, fat bears, skinny bears, bears of all sizes. So where's the perfect place to get a bear that Baboo likes? Having him to choose it personally and creating it of course :) I want him to remember this memorable experience as it is extremely meaningful to us :)

Some of his listeners have probably heard about this term 'Baby Bear Hug', which I guessed he only mentioned it once or twice. This phrase came about when we talk about bear hugs and just nice 'Someone Like You' by The Summer Set was playing on the radio and it gave us an imaginary scene of a Jungle Bear Rock, some jungle party with baby bears dancing hahaha.

Since that day, we love plushed teddy bears alot!

The perfect place to get a teddy bear where you get to witness how it's created.

Stuffing and stitching the bear

The staff asked me to pick a heart, have Baboo and my hands holding onto the heart before making a wish. The heart was placed at his back and stitched up. So sweet! I didn't know about this at all.

Chapter 3: Spending Quality time doing things we enjoy together

Cooking again! Baboo is the cook today and I'm his helper!

I cooked this since I have nothing to do and am waiting for Baboo's soup to boil and he's washing vegetables. That's spam meat btw. It definitely taste better than luncheon meat :)

Quick tip: Avoid adding salt as there's already flavour in the spam meat

I love the veggies!!! Cooked with oyster sauce and lots of chopped garlic.

For the chicken fillet, we season it with the chicken coating mix before frying :)

Chapter 4: Pamper your loved ones

Baboo likes steak! He will always order steak in any restaurants we go to. I love the steak in Jack's Place! My parents always brought me to the Causeway Point outlet and it comes with a jacket potato accompanied with seasonal vegetables which varies.

The ambience at night is great as there will be candles on your table and the whole restaurant is slightly dimmed. Quite romantic if you dine here at night.

We went to Pretty In Tokyo to take neoprint! I can't even remember when's the last time I took neoprint. I remembered they cost $6-$8 only and I still have them in a Hello Kitty purse. During my time, nobody brings digital camera to school and the megapixels in camera phone were terrible. We usually travelled to Lot 1 after school to take neoprints. How silly! I wonder how much money we've spent back then.

Just realised that we like to cook for each other on his birthday. The year before, we were at KL and we cooked Chinese food. This year we had a bit of both :) We break them down in different days so we're able to have a better celebration ever since I started working and wasn't free in the afternoon anymore.

There's too much bugs in game hence, i'm taking a long time to finish decorating. I love games which allows us to decorate the houses! Pet Society is one of them but I stopped playing it after 2 whole years!

Work is much more relaxing and I no longer feel the need to doze off anymore. Am currently helping out my Dad with his business and he drives me to work daily. The tasks are simple too! Baboo always drop by for lunch and stays here all the way till I knock off. It's so fun! He's going to Wallaby soon and it sucks! 3 weeks with no means of communication :(

Gonna make the buttercream icing for my cupcakes now! Wouldn't be piping it but placing dollops of buttercream on it. My piping bag tore last week while piping! *wails* . Now i have to go all the way to Newton to purchase one and buy new piping tips hais...

And... Sleepover this weekend oh yes! Movie marathons again :) I've yet to watch 8 Mile. I know it's an old movie but I've been wanting to watch it since a decade ago and now I finally got my hands on it :)

Wedding Bells - Rick & Hazel

Of all the people you've came across in all walks of life, how magical it is to be able to fall in love with someone, someone with that particular personality which is unique in the world wide world as no 2 people can be the same and have them loving you back? Cherish this moment as there must be a reason why you have crossed each other paths :)

Just returned from Rick & Hazel's (Baboo's listeners/friends) wedding dinner at Paramount Hotel. It's such a joyous occasion! I love this shot!

Before the dinner, we watched a short clip regarding bits and pieces of the wedding happening in the day and it's so lovely! From making up to donning on the wedding gown, walking hand in hand to the car, tea ceremony, tossing of the bouquet as well as pre bridal shots. It totally makes me look forward to my wedding day which we kept discussing about it on & off.. coming up with themes and who will be the bridesmen & bridesmaids :)

P.S: It's not happening anytime soon as we're still saving and the BTO scheme is such a chore at the moment haha!

I'm starting to get used to my new look though I still prefer having long hair. The only downside is it looks horrible in the morning due to sleeping and I have to spend half an hour straightening it before I go out everyday.

It's been ages since I trimmed it to this length which I've considered 'SHORT' due to having extremely long hair for the past 3 years... The ends of my permed hair is badly damaged due to my recent coloring and my conditioner and hair mask were easily used up in weeks. The only solution is to get rid of my long tresses by 7 inches and booked an appointment at the salon ... Oct 8... and I will have straight hair again!

Anyway! Baboo is definitely inexperienced saying there isn't a need to write any blessings/names on the back of the red packet. Just wrote it in case it's needed and I've seen my parents doing that. Turns out that I'm right. Whew! This is what happens to ATAS people who neglects traditional wedding customs since they are much more westernised :D (pokes fun at BT)

Wasnt able to take good shots because a tall bald (no offence) uncle was infront of me :( The other time when I was up at MBS Skypark for the National Day Preview, this caucasian dude just popped out of the infinity pool and his head was bright like the moon due to my flash which reflected on his head :( It's the final and last firework and because of that, I didn't upload that picture because only a Photoshop expert can do the job. Hence, I deleted them D:

We dropped by Udders (Siglap) to have icecream. Passed by a pet shop and there were border collies inside!!! So adorable!!!! They rushed to Baboo and kept sniffing due to Russy's scent. I like big dogs because they are so easy to cuddle and bear hug :) Wouldn't an afternoon nap with a border collie/golden retriever feels heavenly?

The world is extremely small. I was surfing facebook and came across a lady with the same name as someone my Dad has business dealings with of which I've emailed last week. She posted on the bride's wall asking for pictures. Told my Dad about it and he flew to his desk, dialled the numbers in less than 10 seconds and it's really her! My Dad is.. *smacks hand on forehead*. He went on to joke and transferred the call to me! That's not the end! We were seated at the same table! Oh Dad! This is utterly embarrassing ):

Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival

Oh dear I can't believe that the last week of September is fast approaching and there is only 1 blog post for this month?! Oh well, other than being busy with work, I have a quite a number of events which occupied my weekends :)

1 of them was the Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival!!!!

If it's not because of our recent trip to Florida's Walt Disney World, we wouldn't feel the urge to splurge on this! It definitely brings back wonderful memories. Disney is just so magical :)

Kids were dressed as princesses and many donned on Tshirts printed with Disney characters. Some even turned up in Minnie/Mickey hairbands which are sold in Disneyland! We didnt buy them in Orlando as things weren't cheap over there.
But of course, I picked a Minnie tee and Babu wore a Donald Duck shirt for this special occasion :)

I really love this scene and the movie! Just rented it last month and I was glued to the screen since the beginning. I can't believe they wanted to get rid of the 'Part Of Your World' scene. I personally feel that the singer is able to portray the character extremely well and you can sense her longing to be in the human world.

Here's the Finale of the movie. It's so beautiful and touching :) Check out Ariel's face when the dog licked her haha!

You know what? Watching once isn't enough. I'm gonna purchase it as soon as possible. It would be lovely to have a full collection of all the Disney Princess films :)

A decade ago, my elder sister brought us to watch Disney on Ice: The Little Mermaid. It's fantastic and this Music Festival is even better as they acted out various scenes from the fairytale. It seems so real afterall Aladdin & Jasmine were able to 'sit' on the magic carpet, Ariel was sitting on the rock flipping her tail singing 'Part of Your World', and Woody together with Jessie and Bulleyes were skipping!

The Little Mermaid was my favourite and they acted out the river bank scene where Prince Eric brought her on a boatride at a lake with animals singing and asking him to kiss Ariel :)

I feel that they should add more Princesses like Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, etc. All these stories weren't from my generation as they came out in the 80s but I was exposed to Disney storybooks and LDs (yes, it's a gigantic disc and DVDs weren't in the market yet...) and up till today, I still love Disney very much! I feel like a kid once again when I visited Disney World. Even watching this performance makes me glad!

It's kinda sad that some people didn't have a childhood. They were seated behind me sniggering and saying it's stupid and there weren't any Disney songs... Ahem! Are you kidding me? Let me list out the songs that they've sung:

and a couple more from the Aladdin scene. I wasn't that familiar with the Aladdin movie hence i couldn't remember the songs. And HELLO! Why the Hell are you even here, using your fat bulging butts to occupy the seats, depriving other Disney fanatics from watching? (It's full house). Unappreciative people should jolly well get out and not influenced others by sniggering, poking fun at the way Donald talks and saying their actions are stupid.

Nevertheless, I had a very fun time and it makes me excited all over again looking forward to my trip to Hong Kong Disneyland in February :)

Paramore in Singapore 2011

Went to the Paramore Concert together with Babu, Jeremy & Jamie! Before that, I was waiting for Babu beside the merchandise store as he went to interview the band and fans were arriving! A wave of nostalgia swept over me as images of Justin Bieber's concert came into my mind. That day, I can't even take a look at the merchandise store because it was crazily packed with Beliebers! No, I'm not comparing Justin to Paramore. Both are amazing people just that I still can't get over the fact that i went to a My World Tour and it still seem so recent although it happened a couple of months back.

Anyway here are the complimentary tickets. We're in Category 1, towards the right side of the stage. Not so bad, we are able to see the whole stage but the faces are alil unclear. The structure of the Indoor Stadium sucks big time and we are not exactly close... We were thinking that how can these areas be Category 1?

After appearing on stage with a bang, Hayley stood there, surveying everybody with screaming fans and cameras were clicking furiously!

It's crazy in the moshpit. A few girls passed out and were carried out. I got to experience being in the moshpit during Adam Lambert's Glamnation Tour. Though it's held near the Padang Grandstand, it's totally crazy! I was at the 2nd row and it's worth it! Got to see them up close but be prepared of people pushing and elbowing you.

Crushcrushcrush, Misery Business & Playing God are my favourites! The concert is awesome! Hayley even said that if any of our friends were to ask us whether the concert is good, she DOESNT want us to answer them because, we will have NO VOICE by screaming too much!

Hayley Williams kinda reminds me of Avril Lavigne because of the rocker attitude which both ladies possessed. Just attending a concert makes me love the band even more :)

Chocolate Chip Slab Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
♥ 220g butter
♥ 200g brown sugaqr
♥ 300g self raising flour
♥ 200g chocolate chips
♥ 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method
♥ Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a 15 x 10-in baking tin.
♥ Beat the butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes)
♥ Beat in the vanilla essence.
♥ Stir in the flour and chocolate chips to form dough
♥ Pat the dough into the baking tray and bake for 25-30minutes, until the edges are slightly crispy.
♥ Allow to cool before slicing it into squares

Do take note of the size of the baking tray as a smaller surface area requires a longer baking time. A rectangular baking tray is preferred so the cookies will be bite-sized and not too thick. (Mine's a squarish baking tray due to a tiny oven, thus the thick cookies =[ )

Most probably I will be tweaking the recipe alil and will post up a 2nd version. It wouldn't be that soon as I have to wait for a couple of years before I have my own house that comes with a fully equipped kitchen! You know what I mean ;)

Chocolate Muffins Recipe

Ingredients
♥ 2 eggs
♥ 160g sugar
♥ 150g self raising flour
♥ 6 tablespoon cocoa powder
♥ 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
♥ 2 tablespoon milk
♥ 150g butter (unsalted & softened)
♥ 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
♥ Preheat oven to 190°C
♥ Sift the flour and cocoa powder. Set aside.
♥ Cream the butter and sugar. Add in the beaten eggs, milk and vanilla essence gradually while creaming.
♥ Pour the flour mixture in and fold in
♥ Add in the chocolate chips and fill the muffin casing 2/3 full.
♥ Bake for 25-30 minutes on the middle rack of the oven. Insert a skewer and if it comes out clean, it is ready! Transfer the muffins and cool it on a wire rack.

National Day Celebration 2011

This year's celebration is equally fun! Last year Babu and I went to UOB tower, which is even higher than Marina Bay Sands to view the fireworks and we had buffet dinner. Free balloons were given out as well.

Together with the Ratnams, we went to the Waterfront Promenade and the main aim of going there is to view the firework display.

We had a sleepover at their house and played with the babies before they went to bed. spent the night munching on chips and watched this supposedly scary (which I found it hilarious) movie about a ghostly scarecrow in a cornfield. Went to bed at 4:30am! First time sleeping on bunkbeds. So fun! :) I got the top one and I was so close to the wall that I kept elbowing it in my sleep and spraining it the next morning :(

Woke up at 12plus and had McDonalds thanks to Jamie :) They were such good hosts :) I was looking forward to her American breakfast though :(

Jamie prepared lots of food for the day. There's tuna sandwiches, brownies, chicken wings and mee. We went grocery shopping the day before to get stuff for our sandwiches and baby Kevin played with the buttons on my dress with both arms outstretched and they labeled him as a Tico. Haha too cute! He kisses our cheeks with an 'mmm muck' sound instead of muacks. Super adorable!

Fireworks got delayed and it's almost the same as New Years Eve and previous National days. WDW is the best with various colors and patterns :)

The Final One!

We celebrated "Cook a Pot of Curry Day" 1 week earlier as all of us had to attend Paramore's Concert last night.

If you are still unsure over why the sudden big hooha over curry in our country, it's regarding some foreigners not being able to stand the curry smell and as a result, an Indian family can only cook it when the foreigners are not at home! Happened 6 years ago but still, ridiculous and absurd.

Jamie cooked nice curry with mini beef chunks and garden peas. We had it with chapatti and papadam.

Too bad we didn't open the windows to share the smell with others as the aircon was on in the hall.

Anyway, I baked chocolate chip muffins! Shouldnt listen to Babu's request for lots of chocolate chips. It's too sweet! The muffin is just nice but the chocolate chips are woah! It's like stuffing a whole chocolate bar in my mouth.

Work leaves me tired everyday and i always end up waking at 2-3pm on Saturday noon. It's been a long time since Babu and I go on a decent date! We're planning a celebration for Babu's birthday oh yeah! I'm gonna whip up a feast and meanwhile, i should look through my recipe book and go grocery shopping soon. Cooking is alot of work!

I never knew this place could turn out to be such a perfect venue for a photoshoot! Unlike in the West where railway shots are very popular and the best thing is they are able to capture the train in their pictures. I wouldn't have the guts to do it!

This whole event lasted for at most 30 minutes! Saturdays are so fun where i can spend time with booboo after 5 days of work.

We tried this a couple of times before the actual day and I ended up wriggling out from his hands because it's too ticklish and his wrists will hurt terribly. However, this shot was taken only once! It's perfect! :)

Minimal preparation was done and thankfully my Aunt gave me a few hats and I could easily make do with 1 of it and matched it with my braided hair, giving a cowgirl image but not shedding the girly girl image entirely.

We reached there at late evening and can u believe it? They sell out their cupcakes everyday at almost 6+! Orders are crazy and they just kept coming in!

Got to try a few! Today's Special: Cookies and Cream cupcakes!

I have a fetish for cookies & cream! It's extremely yummy and moist! I don't really eat cupcakes as I dislike cheese and there's too much butter. However, these cupcakes do not leave such a strong taste in my mouth. It is perfect, not too sweet and too bland :)

I like the Red Velvet Cupcakes too! 3rd from left :) Apparently, it is everybody's favourite flavour :)

Baking starts at 7am and there will be batches after batches. You will understand it if you bake as you'll have leftover batter and you gotta put the 1st batch in the oven and prepare the next one without forgetting the timing and so on. I've baked 4 batches of cookies before and I was extremely shagged after the last batch and I still gotta do the dishes! The mixing bowl is the worse as it is extremely oily!

Bought half a dozen back! :) I was too excited and didn't take any pictures but it's alright I'm definitely dropping by again as I have yet to try their chocolate one (My Mum ate it!) :(
